Alex Summers was an outgoing and friendly individual, laid-back and quick to action, but not to judgment. Born to a small suburban household and quick to go off to the military, he lived by a cocde of dedication and service for most of his life. He was quick to lead, not out of desire to do so, but out of ability. Alex enjoyed taking his time to think on things, but in moments of action tended to act quickly.
he had a deep-abided desire for things to work out, and a love of his family, and one of his all-time favorite(not!) pains was the fact that he and his brother had spent most of their lives at odds. First over childish stuff, then over domestic family stuff. Alex wanted never to be like Scott, and thus spent even more time being sure of what he wanted and how he wanted it.
When he asked Lorna to marry him, he did so because of a heart that had grown full of love and respect, and out of a feeling of it being the right thing to do, what with them considering having a kid. Alex wanted to serve, protect, and help those around him.
After Aang assisted him in curing his lack of control, and in learning far more control and confidence in his abilities, Alex found himself ready for new challenges, and eagerly looked forward to a future that seemed bright.
With his wife not on Enterprise, and worse, with a doppelganger there, instead, he will feel a great sense of betrayal, sorrow, and pain. There will be a need to find a way to serve swiftly, and a need to both know the new Lorna, and not somehow conflate her and his wife. Having his sister in law Emma, and his niece Faith, on the ship will help center him, and it is my hope he cane become a vital part of ongoing plots and ideas.
